Filmed and recorded live at the Beacon Theatre March 25-26, 2003 Live at the Beacon Theatre also includes a bonus track, Old Friend (recorded during a dressing room rehearsal), interviews, a photo gallery, and behind-the-scenes footage ... and folks are loving it! Here's a sample of reviews shared here on Hittin' the Web on the Guest Book and in the Reviews section: Mike Zlotnicki, "Man ! What a great DVD. I'm known for getting long-winded, so I'll try my best to keep this simple : BUY IT !!! It'll be one of the best investments you'll ever make. The camera work, the clarity, the sound, all dynamite! I've had it for 4 days, and I can't stop watching it, or at least listening while I get things done around the house. Thank you Gregg and the rest of the guys. :)" Ronald Nimblett, "The new DVD: The Allman Brothers at The Beacon 2003 is one of the best concert DVD's to come down the road in quite awhile. Not only does the music sound great but it clearly shows the new revival of the band and the fantastic energy that flows from them. If you don't feel it on the first DVD, you will in the interview on the second DVD. Remember, the road goes on forever!!" Idlewild43, "I could not agree more. What a refreshing crisp sound. The interview portion is a must see. Everyone is enjoying what they are doing, especially the fans. Gregg's voice is better than ever and the rhythm section is tight and Warren, Derek, and Oteil really are amazing. Thanks Guys." Gregory Robert McKay, "Lets agree that I am biased against this lineup. I would leave right now to go to a show anywere that Derek or Govt Mule were playing. Been chasing ABB since High school 79/80 ish. I went to a couple of New Years shows at New Haven CT. and lots of stuff in N.E. THIS IS THE GREATEST DVD THAT I HAVE EVER SEEN. I could review it song by song, but, WHO GIVES A SHIT, ITS $25.00, BUY IT. I always hit a few shows at the Beacon. Its a quick 1.5 hours from the house. What's sleep when I can see ABB. I get goose bumbs watching my TV????????? Lots of video of Derek and Warren smirking at each other and Jaimoe ducking under his Kit to mess with Oteil. On the encore (One way out), it looks like Butch is ready to burst he is so happy. Cool to see Derek dancing(?) during (The Same Thing). Gregg as always is on fire with the vocals. I am grateful that someone got this on DVD. I like the interviews and backstage chatter. I always wonder If the band is having as much fun as I am during intermission. (I think I saw 10 seconds in the backstage stuff when Derek didn't have a guitar in his hand ;-) I was at a couple of shows in March and remember being just blown away by the energy coming off of the stage. It is there for me to see and feel on the DVD. The DVD is great, but it is no substitute for getting off of the couch and going out. I hear there are tickets for Govt Mule New Years...see you there. I have a stack of tickets and a stack of memories from just going to the show. Get the DVD and read the insert. Whoever wrote this feels much the same way I do, How empty my life would be if it weren't for the music?..Thanks ABB..." Ronald R. Tomlins, "What a great job on the DVD! The production is excellent and the sound is great. It really captures the Beacon/ABB experience. Lots of great camera angles and close-ups, and some real nice shots of the boys smiling and interacting with each other. I also really enjoy the interviews and behind-the-scenes stuff. Jaimoe and Gregg, in particular are so much more animated than I have ever seen or heard. Even my wife and my 11 yr. old daughter love it. Being able to crank the Beacon experience, with all its sights and sounds, whenever I'm in the mood (always). It just doesn't get any better. When you watch and listen to this, you just have to say (again), there is the ABB, and then everyone else, a distant second. Kudos." Jandanhof, "Living in the Netherlands it is hard to go to concerts of the Brothers, but looking at and listening to the new DVD has given me a feeling of somehow belonging to the crowd that was in the Beacon Theatre and although a lot of the songs were familiar through and through, 'One way out' gave me the shivers again. Together with the Stonybrook CD and 'Hittin the Note' this has been aAnd guys, do us a favour in Europe, come over for a tour if possible. It's been too long." J.E.Keebler, "Today, I purchased the new DVD. All I can say WOW!!!! It is great. This is a real treat. Any time the Allman Brothers are in the area this old rocker will be in the front row." John Bowes, "Finally got my copy of the DVD this week. It was worth every Canadian $ I had to pay for it. As if the concert footage was not enough, I love the behind the scenes footage and interviews." Rolandalfred56, "I have seen the Beacon DVD for the 10th time and I don't get tired of it! It is just awesome!!!" Ed, "Was watching the new DVD awesome stuff...If you have not heard the interviews on this DVD they are priceless...They give you a real sense of the interworkings of the band...Otiel tells the story of how he got in the band and so does Marc... Great stuff...The only thing is you really don't get a feel for the crowd most of the crowd noise is gone...I guess that's a good thing because the music sounds awesome.." Rick Tolbert, "I have been a hardcore ABB fan since first being exposed to their music in 1984 (I can hear some of you old schooler's laughing out loud at that date) and I own every album the band has ever put out, including solo and side projects by various members. I even bought the remasters and gave my old CD copies away, having worn out my vinyl LPs long ago. However, I've never lived in an area where they played in concert - at least not when I was living there - and this fact has been a constant source of frustration for me. As such, I was delighted to see this new concert DVD on the shelves during my weekly music-buying ritual, especially in the wake of the surprising and outstanding quality of the "Hittin' The Note" CD, which is not only far better than anyone had a reason to expect, but also the best album of new material by any veteran act of the ABB's vintage that I can recall in ANY style of music. Needless to say picked it up that same day without hesitation and couldn't wait to play it. My wife and 9 year old son sat down with me to watch it that night and we were ALL blown away. Having never seen the band in concert, this DVD was a true godsend. There were moments when I was actually choked up with emotion as the band jammed in a style filled with kind of joy, passion and commitment that recalled, to my ears, the old Fillmore tapes with Duane. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU, guys. Now...when are you going to play in Hawaii? :) Note To The Consumer: If you are an ABB fan, this DVD is an essential purchase. Get it today! The concert is fantastic and the bonus material are also wonderful - especially the band interviews and the bonus track of Warren and Derek in an acoustic jam in the dressing area backstage that just plain smokes. (When will we see that track on an ABB album...or for that matter, when will we see an acoustic "unplugged" ABB album?)"
